To copy photos from a memory card to your computer and simultaneously add them to the Excire Foto database, please follow these steps:
- Connect the memory card or camera to your computer.
- In Excire Foto, select the "Copy and Add" function from the file menu.
- Choose the memory card as the source and select a target folder on your hard drive, then start the copying process.
Optionally, you can rename the photos during this process if you have set up a renaming profile beforehand. For more information on how to use renaming profiles, please refer to the relevant section of this documentation.
You can also choose whether to include subfolders from the memory card. This is recommended, as many cameras create a directory structure with subfolders.
If you do not want to analyze the photos immediately, you can do so later in a separate step. The same applies to generating previews. However, we recommend most users leave the default settings as they are.
If you are working with IPTC profiles in Excire Foto, you can use them to automatically fill in specific metadata, such as the photographer’s name and contact information.
